I have a dear friend who is very important to me who is on bedrest. It is my sister, Noel.
She is 12 weeks with twins.
Can anyone recommend some good movies or books (that are NOT pregnancy related or too sad) that might be good for someone on bedrest? Any other suggestions?
This is a difficult period in her life and I'd like her to find some peace in it.

I love the Scarlet Pimpernel w/ Jane Seymour. It's funny, and just a great movie.
Books? Hmmm...I got lost in Daphne Du Maurier's Rebecca. Really enjoy that crazy book.
Might be obvious, but the funny chick lit books- Devil Wears Prada, Nanny Diaries, books by Jane Green and Jennifer Weiner (except Little Earthquakes). Julie & Julia is an amusing book a women wrote about trying to make everything in Julia Child's cookbook. Movies... what about a DVD series? Any shows she's never seen but wanted to? Or an old show that is just now out on DVD. Im just starting Grey's Anatomy... so far behind.
Um, anything Disney and animated! May I suggest Snow White, Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty to name a few? :-) Or funny - Toy Story, The Incredibles, Monsters, Inc? I got 'em all :)
Ohh! I remember when I was bed-ridden with my ankle injury (very different situation, I know, but I can relate!). Lucky for me, the Tour de France was on and I watched every day.
I love travel essays... They take you away oh so far. Driving Over Lemons and A Year in Provence are two of my favorites"'.
